My Life Journey

I am Pr WO1 SUNDAY JUSTUS born of 1983 from Bundibugyo District which is found in western region of Uganda to Mr Ernest Balimukyabo  and Mrs Joyce Bangaye. I’m the eldest of 06 (03 Boys and 03 Girls ) and a biological father of five (04 Boys and 01 Girl) i.e. Drake JB Aine, Nabahweza Joyce Precious, Mugabe John Stuart Anan, Stein Ian Kazini Zamungu and Jeff Nathan Akandwanaho.

During the insurgence of Allied Democratic Front (ADF)  in a year 2000, I dropped out of school to join the National Army (UPDF) due to lack of school fees leaving my relatives in an Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camp. Later after the basic military training, i was deployed to 2nd Infantry Division found in Kakiri – Wakiso District found in central Uganda. I served directly under 59 Infantry Battalion which was under 507 Brigade tasked with tasks including operating in some parts of Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Later in time, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) a rebel group that caused insurgencies to the communities in eastern DRC and some parts of western Uganda got weakened and  defeated. During the time of re-organization after the Congo operations, the Army leadership decided to establish the 5th Infantry Division in Pader District found in Northern Uganda, an area where Lords Resistance Army (LRA), a rebel group led by Joseph Kony had taken dominance. Each Battalion a cross the country was required to contribute a force of at least two (02) companies of soldiers to in order to achieve the above objective. Charlie Company or C-Coy where I belonged to happened to be selected among the two, on our way back after the operations in DRC. During that journey, the long Vehicle (Kayola – trailer) that we boarded fell into an accident and collided  with a Lorry causing some of the soldiers on board to fall off and died instantly leaving me and others seriously injured, I sustained a broken right leg and right arm.  Within the time of the accident, i got a vision which is still fresh and alive in my mind. I saw it as below;

‘I had shaved the hair on my head a day before but a certain hairy white skinned man with long hair putting on a white garment (robe) held me by the hair lifting me into the sky, a few moments after we started descending down. We found troops on assembled, they turned to us then said; “NOT THAT ONE TAKE HIM BACK HE STILL HAS A LOT TO DO”

This reminds me of the scripture which says;I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear them now’ John 16:12. Then the gentleman lifted me back the same way he had done before. Immediately i opened my eyes to recognize the person who had got hold of me, instead i heard my follow soldiers saying; ‘JUSTUS don’t lift up the hand for you are seriously broken, indeed i never saw the other person again but only the radius and ulna bones were broken and exposed through the flesh. The uniform shirt i had put on was used to bandage both the arm and the leg. It was on the next day that i realized my right also had been fatally injured.

On the morning of 12th August 2002, I found myself lying on the floor inside Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital under emergency care. As time went on my name was unfortunately chopped off the Army payable strength since I had already left 59Batallion and never reached the destined Unit as expected, leaving me in agony without payment for six (06) months when no body was minding to help me out. At the same time, my parents were also starving in Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camp.

At the same time that i was not receiving salary, i was advised by the medical doctors to start eating Molokoni (Cow trotters) targeting the calcium from bone marrow which i could not also afford to buy though it was as cheap as 1000 Ug Shillings per plate. Amidst the situation of hopelessness and trauma, there came a team of Evangelists preaching saying “JESUS is the only source of HOPE, He does miracles, He heals the Sick, and is a father to the fatherless” Quoting Luke 4:18 (To me peharps I had known him as jesus…… not in this version). I was so touched by the message, later I saw a lady coming to my sickbed at the hospital ward asking whether am a soldier or a son to a soldier. By that time I was weighing 37 Kilograms and looking like a young boy!. No am a soldier I responded. Then she asked for my prayer request and definitely it was Mulokoni (Cow trotters) since it had been prescribed as one of the foods that could improve my healing, we had a prayer of agreement after leading me into prayer of confession. Thereafter she picked a coin of five hundred Ug Shillings from her handbag and gave it to me.

A few moments later, i saw the Brigade Pay team come into the ward where I was admitted asking for soldiers belonging to 55, 57, and 59Bns so I responded that i am from 59Bn and i was paid the salary of at least 01 month amounting to UGX  138,600/=  One hundred thirty eight thousand, six hundred Shillings only equivalent to $72 USD at the rate of 1900/= by then. Same day I was referred to the General Military Hospital (GMH) Mbuya for further treatment evidencing the working of Jesus and the impact of prayer (I will overturn, overturn, overturn it; this also shall be no more until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it to Him Ezekiel 21:27.

At GMH I was received with fare treatment. However, while there i was also attacked by Tetanus virus and the pain tripled the one of the accident. This is the time my Dady (Mr Ernest Balimukyabo) came with powdered charm. He asked me to get a piece of cloth, sewing needle and a nylon thread so that he makes for me a charm, he was surprised to hear me rejecting all the instructions telling him that I better die today and meet my maker (GOD) than dying tomorrow ending up in hell. He was disappointed with my decision and he could no longer provide a sufficient help due to that, I remember one day in my isolated room when I needed his help and i raised my voice calling him, he came in a high tone of his voice emphasizing how he is not God. If am to die although he is holding on me I will definitely die and if am to live though is in a thousand miles away; I will definitely live. Although my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up Psalms 27:10

As I had improved another team of Evangelists came talking about the same JESUS, and directed us where their Church is located. Reaching there, we were introduced to the Holy Spirit and our lives never remained the same and in our coming back to hospital everybody had good news about the LORD for our lives had already changed positively until I was transferred to the Chieftaincy of  Mubende Rehabilitation Centre (CMRC) in Mubende District. While there I joined the Church fellowships until my other transfer again to Land Force Headquarters – Bombo, as a Computer operator under the Directorate of Records in 2007. And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing Genesis 12:2

You have not chosen Me, but I  have chosen you and I have appointed you, that you might go and bear fruit; John 15:16

By the grace of  God, Faith Foundation International is established in Bombo as a Church under my pastor-ship targeting the fulfillment of the Great Commission with in uniformed communities. Math 28:19-20.

The ministry is doing well in the community, people are giving their lives to Christ day  by day, and faith in the LORD is increasing among the Brethren.

They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony Rev 12:11.
